Zev AI ("we", "us", "our") is a Windows-based voice assistant application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Zev AI application and website (zev-ai.com).

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you link your Amazon account to enable Alexa Smart Home features, we receive and store an OAuth access token to facilitate device control.
  • Voice Commands: Voice input is processed locally on your device using speech-to-text technology. We do not transmit raw audio recordings to our servers.
  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymized usage data to improve the application.
  • Email Address: If you sign up to be notified about Zev AI, we collect your email address for that purpose only.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To process voice commands and provide AI assistant responses
  • To control smart home devices you have authorized via Amazon Alexa account linking
  • To provide personalized daily briefs, weather, and calendar information
  • To send product launch notifications if you have opted in
  • To improve and develop the Zev AI application

4. AMAZON ALEXA INTEGRATION

Zev AI integrates with Amazon Alexa Smart Home services. When you link your Amazon account:

  • We receive an OAuth token from Amazon via Login with Amazon (LWA)
  • This token is stored securely and used only to send device control commands on your behalf
  • We do not share your Amazon account information with third parties
  • You may unlink your account at any time through the Alexa app

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

OAuth tokens and user preferences are stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, including DynamoDB with encryption at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Zev AI uses the following third-party services:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure and Lambda functions
  • Amazon Alexa: Smart Home skill integration
  • ElevenLabs: AI voice synthesis
  • OpenAI / Anthropic: AI language model processing

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their data practices.

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain OAuth tokens and account data only as long as necessary to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon account unlinking or deletion request, all associated tokens and personal data are permanently removed from our systems.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Unlink your Amazon account through the Alexa app at any time

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Zev AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date.
